We spent 8 days in Auckland where Nick had his conference. The uni was in the city so that's where we stayed. We had a car so spent a lot of time driving around checking everything out. On our last day in Auckland we decided go for a trip on the ferry to Devonport. Scarlett was so excited to go on a boat. We had lunch at another cool cafe with stripey art on the walls. We bought some new pants for Ollie on this trip because he had a leak and of course I never carry an extra set of clothing! All these pictures are out of order. Sorry!

We visited Nick's aunt and cousin. Nick's cousin Janice is having a baby girl soon.

We had amazing gelato at the Auckland docks. Scarlett had to take mine! What a mess!!.... and a waste. She didn't even finish it!

Our friend Sharon took Scarlett, Ollie and I to an underwater world. It was lots of fun seeing all the fish. We got to see penguins too! They had a little car that went past the ice with all the penguins and their babies. They had a pool too where the penguins swim. We had lunch afterwards at a cafe and then played on the beach. Another beautiful day!

We visited the Auckland zoo which was lots of fun. We had a beautiful hot sunny day to cruise around looking at all of the animals. Scarlett loved it! There were lots of school groups there that day so we had to dodge school kids all day.

Scarlett got grumpy on our first Sunday in New Zealand and scratched my face. She was so hyper that day and ran up to the pulpit thinking I was playing a game of chasings! This is the only time she has ever hit me.

We spent a few days looking around Devonport on the north shore of Auckland. Nick's parents grew up there and it is also where Nick was born. It was pretty and there were some great cafes where we ate some yummy food! This is us up on Mt Victoria. The views were fantastic!

Mmmmmmmm.......so yummy! This was the best seafood basket we have ever had. It was so good even the non fish eater ate it!!! This was the best cafe in Devonport. Can't remember the name of it though.
We went for a drive to Hamilton to visit Hobbiton. We were lucky to see the temple too although it was not open and and the visitors centre was under reconstruction. We walked around the gardens which were beautiful. It was cool to visit the temple where my parents were married.
I didn't really wear the same thing every day!! I had about three other short sleeved tops. I wasn't expecting the weather to be so warm though!
