We went to Lachlan Cowan's 3rd birthday party today. He had a Thomas the tank engine party which was exciting for Scarlett because she loves "Tommy". She wants a Thomas party too...a few more months thank goodness! The kiddies had fun drawing, sticking, finding treasures, blowing bubbles eating and attempting to play pin the nose on Thomas (the kids didn't want to be blindfolded!!)Just blown out the candles

It's over!

The season is finally over. We played our final game in a little town called Fassifern. We drove about an hour out of Brisbane . We lost and I was so frustrated because their young girls were just booting it...mind you, the booting was pretty good, they just weren't doing anything else. Anyway the other team were lovely girls and we had a fun game.

I told you twice that I was going to post some pics and here they are . Sorry they are so late. I have had problems with the computer! I have was so determined to post this evening though even after having an average day at work... I think I am coming down with another head cold! Here are some pictures of Ollies party. We had a playgroup party and celebrated with more cupcakes and games. We also had a visitor! Not sure how he got into our backyard but it wasn't long before he got chased and flew over the fence.

Two favourite things

I am pleased to let everyone know that we have our last game of soccer next week and although we have not won many games, we have drawn heaps which is soooo good. Better than losing!! Sorry I haven't really taken any pictures this year. Nick and I have been busy juggling the kids ...we're lucky if we have a game on the same field. Anyway I will try and take some next week. One other favourite thing at the moment is Pilate's. I have started going down the road to the physio. I feel like I have finally got my tummy muscles back!!! I do two nights Pilate's and one fit ball class. Let's see if I can keep it up! I'll keep you posted...

Sooo Easy

Just a quick note about the Laundry Gel.... I bought a large white bucket from Bunnings and all I do is put all ingredients in a pot on the stove and wait till it all melts together. I then pour it in the bucket with more water.... SO easy! Leave it overnight and it turns into a gel. There is a recipe for laundry powder on Saving Mum website too, with similar ingredients... a little more effort has to go into that one. It is GREAT for front loaders as well.

I just wanted to let you know about a website called Saving Mum. I am just in the middle of making my second batch of Laundry Gel which is fantastic, it cleans so well.... and soooo cheap! There are lots of other money and time saving ideas so check it out.

Super Laundry Gel - 5c per load…
This recipe is incredible! For just a little time every few weeks you will save huge amounts of money and have the softest, cleanest clothes. You will need: ½ bar of plain/laundry soap (or Sard Wondersoap or Sunlight soap which have stain removing qualities) ½ cup Lectric Soda or Washing Crystals ½ cup Borax Powder Water A small bucket with a lid. Grate the soap and put it in a sauce pan. Add 2½ litres water and heat it until the soap melts. Add the washing soda and the borax and stir until it is dissolved. Remove from heat. Pour 2½ litres hot water into the bucket. Now add your soap mixture and stir. Finally add 3.8 litres of water and stir.
Let the soap sit for about 24 hours and it will gel. You use ½ cup per load. The finished ‘Super Laundry Gel’ will not be a solid gel. It will be more of a watery gel. The gel is a low-suds soap. Don’t panic when you don’t see many suds as it washes. The ingredient will work very well without the bubbles. NOTES: 1) You can use homemade soap. You don’t need to grate the soap… this just helps it to melt faster. 2) The Super Laundry Gel is low suds and is fine to use in front loading washing machines. 3) You can add a fragrance like lavender or orange essential oil. Always add the fragrance to the bucket of soap or added into each wash. A few drops of oil is plenty. 4) Don’t confuse washing soda and baking soda – they are completely different. 5) Make sure you store safely away from children in a lockable cupboard. 6) If your clothes are extra soiled, add a scoop of ‘napisan’ or ‘oxyclean’ or even one capful of Eucalyptus Oil to boost the load. 7) You may wish to double the borax and washing soda when you make your next batch, if you feel it is not strong enough. 8) Most supermarkets stock Borax and Lectric Soda in the detergent aisle. 9) By using these natural products, white clothing can go back to the true white cotton colour. Occasionally wash whites in a commercial washing detergent or use a scoop of 'napisan' or 'oxyclean' to keep them 100% white. I have been using this recipe for 6 months and our clothes are always wonderfully clean (I'm fussy!) we save enormous amounts of money every week. Happy washing! More birthday shots

Of course I made my own pinata so it would be easier for the kiddies to break..... I think I did too many layers!!! Uncle Ev had to throw it against the wall and all the lolly pops shattered. The kids had fun though which is the main thing. I made some decorations which I have left up for our morning tea on Saturday with all our playgroup friends. I made another pinata but I am a bit afraid to use it now... the littles definitely wont be able to break it!! Maybe we will play pass the parcel.
