Taylor Street

The other day I found out that one of my soccer team mates lives in Taylor Street. What the heck, you say.... The house that she lives in is the same house that we (Elisa, Steff and Aurora) rented out about 6 years ago. I found the place!! Anyway YSA girls have been living it ever since!!

Here are the originals..... Elisa, Me, Steff and Aurora

People left and came....this is Sam another flat mate

Here is John Scott (didn't live with us) Kate, Renee (from Canada), Steff and Me

Winners

Yes, thats right.... We Won!! We had a really great game of soccer today and our first win for the season. I am really enjoying getting to know the girls on our team. We are having fun learning and growing together as a team. Julia played for us today because we had a couple of injuries. I miss playing with her!! It was fun!

Play.Play.Play

Play group....

It was a little bit wet and Hayden just loved crawling through the wet pine bark! He's such a cutie and I love the little green jacket.

This is Scarlett and Maddie having a play. I think Scarlett carried her chips and drink everywhere she went!

Go Westie, Go!!

Yep.... playgroup again. Loads of fun when we don't have to chase the kids all over the place!! We're off to the art gallery next Tuesday which I am looking forward to. I will be interested to see what they do with littles.

Little Bunny

I was looking at some pics on the computer when I came across this one. My cute little bunny is no longer so small!! This also reminded me that I have not done any scapbooking for so long.... haven't even finished Scarlett's first year yet.... how am I going to catch up!!! Gotta find some time..........

Birthday Party

We celebrated Nick's mum's birthday last Sunday. Just had a light lunch with some yummy Carrot cake. I had to pick out the sultanas though!!! There were heaps!

Teletubbie

Scarlett got her new sleep suit yesterday. It was very exciting. We put it on over her new "Dorothy the Dinosaur" PJ's so that she keeps warm at night. While she was dancing around the lounge room she looked so much like a Teletubbie! What do ya think? I had to laugh because for some strange reason Teletubbies is still one of her favourite shows!!! I also have to laugh at Scarlett dancing to all the tunes on the TV. Her favourites are 'Big Brother' ad (I dont think so), Biggest Loser, Sizzler ad, ....that's all I can think of at the moment. Scarlett gets up and sings along every time one of these appears on tele. Mind you.... as soon as I start singing she tells me to stop!!! I can't sing anything around her!!!

Thought you might like to know...

These are the beautiful flowers nick gave me for our anniversary. I love fresh flowers!!!

Here are stunning pictures of my eyes and lips (doing the Puddy pose!!!) My lips were there until I accidentally deleted them! Just imagine a huge swollen top lip. wiped my face with a Johnson's baby wipe last night and this is what happened! I am not too impressed because it hasn't gone right down yet. I thought I needed to warn people to be careful. I'm not normally sensitive to makeup or skin care products so this was a surprise.

I also thought those of you who don't know.....K Mart has a sale on till Wednesday. Buy one item of kiddies clothing and get one for 60% off. I love Bonds and lay byed a heap of stuff for Ollie.

Entzauberung - life in the 30's....

Bianca keeps appearing on my shoulder like one of those little angels (or is it demons?) in the Bugs Bunny cartoons which say 'do this', or 'do that'. So instead of continuing on in my quest to get my supervisor of my back with the 'when is the next chapter draft coming Nick?', I've decided to write a post here. Its not that I haven't wanted to. Its just that I've been busy...honest. What with Lecturing, Tutoring, Marking, Young Mensing, Parenting, Husbanding, Blogging (on my other blog), Treasuring (for the soccer club), Home Teachinging (ok...now I'm stretching the truth) and most importantly Sleepingening....

So I thought I would preempt everyone who will be asking the question over the next few days, 'What's it feel like to be 30 you old man...' to which I will reply, 'don't ask me, I'm still 25...at least I look it right?'.

And so my 30th year begins. My daughter gets heavier, and alot naughtier; My son gets hair quicker than me, and he's still bald (I fear....I really fear); My Wife gets more and more cocky...and she has every right to. For three years straight now I've been mocking her age. 'Ewww...don't touch me old woman,' or 'you sure your memory isn't going?'. Oh the cruel hand of fate. Now I hear, 'You're getting old honey...'

And I feel it. I hear the groans from the 50/40 + people reading this with the cliche, 'oh come on now...to be 30 again (sigh)'. But my 30th year brings a few things to my mind. First, if I was still in YSA, I would be in my final jump to single adulthood. SCARY. I suppose it means I'm 'supposed' to be an 'adult' now? I dunna think so. I will still watch the Simpsons in abundance, even if I have seen the episode a hundred times over. I will still laugh at my daughter and son flatuating in public (and private) places...even myself (yes its true). I will still create myself in FIFA 2008 as a young fit and incredibly talented soccer player who is bought by Tottenham Hotspur for a cool $20 million pound...even though my knees are likely to break in half any day now...oh yes and finally, I WILL STILL BE 2.5 YEARS YOUNGER THAN BIANCA!!!! HAHAHA.

So despite the title of the post (which means disenchantment), I reply to the question posed above with, 'fine, I don't feel any different to the past 30 years of my life'. At least that is what I will say as my left knee cracks, my right ankle creaks, my Son cries and pulls on my pants, my Daughter then kicks him in the bum, my Wife asks me for money and my Supervisor chastises me for posting here instead of writing some more......

Saturdays

We had our second game of soccer today! We lost again! It wasn't as hot this week so I had heaps more energy... we were still down a few players though which makes it tough. Our goalie fell on her hand and dislocated her finger. I had my first experience at goalie during second half and I actually enjoyed it....... perhaps if the action was up the other end I would not be saying that! Nick played out at Ipswich and they won!! Yay! That's our Saturday!

I have been thinking a lot about socks lately...... actually, ever since my friend Janell wrote about how her socks mysteriously go missing in the wash. I was hanging out the washing yesterday when I realised something..... When nick takes his socks off he folds them together and throws them in the wash basket. Half the time I don't notice and throw the clothes in the washing machine along with the pairs of socks. They get washed together and then get separated once I have noticed when I hang them out to dry! However, we do have some socks that go walk about. I had four different soccer socks hanging over the chair this morning, all with no friends!!!!

Farewell Ben and Emma!

Our friends Ben and Emma Allen are leaving to live Adelaide. We had a farewell dinner at Ystyn and Adele's house. Adele had just come home from hospital with their little baby girl McKinley. It's easy to forget how small babies are when they are born. Look at Ollie in comparison... big boy!!

Mark and McKinley (probably spelt wrong!!)

This is the kids playing after their bath. They had to get in bed didn't they!!

West and Ollie

Of course I had to show you this massive bruise on my leg. It actually got a lot darker than that! I tripped while getting off the couch and because Ollie was under me and I didn't want to step on him I landed on the corner of the coffee table. It's hard to keep your cool when your in pain! You just have to grit your teeth when the kiddies are around!!!

Koobar

We get lots of kookaburras around our place. When Scarlett hears them laugh she gets so scared! We were having a play at the park when a couple of kookaburras decided to join us. Scarlett's reaction was gold!! She was very concerned!!

Feeding the Ducks

Does Scarlett look like her daddy?

In the Easter Holidays we went for a walk to feed the ducks. Can you believe it took 5 minutes to walk to from our house? We took some bread and the feeding process went a bit like this... one piece for you and one piece for me........!
