Busy.......

( I won a pattern from Toni at Make It Pefect and this is my first attempt at making it. I made a little belt to match)

We have been so busy the last month. We had been preparing for a Birthday party, a flight to Hobart and Christmas. I had to make lists every day so I did not forget anything! The kids also had a huge few weeks also. One day we found Scarlett asleep on the couch before dinner. Everyone had a wonderful time at Scarlett's Party on the 13th. It was pretty hot but we survived and had lots of yummy food, face painting, bubbles and playing. It was so funny how all the children quickly surrounded the table as the birthday cake came out! I was so lucky it kind of turned out ok. The night before I was wishing I had bought a cake! So... ...I have kind of crashed since being on holiday and feel a little run down. I have plenty to share and am hoping to keep everyone updated within the next week........HOPING!

Intermingling

Christmas & Birthday

My birthday is at the same time of year that all the Christmas decorations traditionally go up. Very exciting stuff! Our poor old Christmas tree went up slightly early. We were given this tree a few years ago and are now realising why! We began by putting on our purple, green and silver balls.... hmmm..... didn't look quite right. What was wrong with our tree? Just not bushy enough. We soon solved the bushiness problem with a little silver tinsel. I took Scarlett and Ollie to Myer to choose a special decoration each for the Christmas tree. Guess which one Scarlett chose.... yep you got it, the PINK one. Scarlett chose the bird for Ollie. My kind friend Melissa had some spare baubles that she donated to our tree along with an incredible surprise birthday present which consisted of beautiful blue and spotted baubles and a little Christmas tree a ornament. THANK YOU!!

It was a bit of a bummer that Nick was away in Melbourne for my birthday! Aunty Puddy saved the day! Scarlett and Puddy made me Birthday desert...YUM!

Nick sent these beautiful flowers

Big red car, prams and powder

Every Tuesday Scarlett has swimming lessons at Hayley Lewis swim school at Carindale Westfield. Afterwards we head down to Juice Boost for a Strawberry Squeeze with Melissa and Maddy.....Maybe some browsing as well! Here is Maddy and Ollie taking a drive in the Big Red Car.

Last week I decided to try making laundry powder instead of the gel. It is wonderful... I used sard wonder soap, sunlight soap, borax and laundry soda. I also added some bought laundry powder, which gives it a little fragrance....2 tablespoons is all you need!

Ok.... so today I sat down to do some sewing while Ollie was asleep and....what about my pram and my bag. Scarlett sat in her pram not long after she got it and the dodgy stitching came undone. I promised her I would make her a new pram seat. This is what I made this afternoon. It's not perfect, but still does the trick. Ollie wanted to push it around too!

What a poser the Ollie man is!

Just chillin in bed.... all smiles until Ollie tried to take Scarlett's pram. She wouldn't let it go so Ollie bit her on the nose.

family outing

On Saturday we went for a drive to Redcliff for some fish and chips. (Yes the kids are dressed oddly!... Scarlett likes to dress herself these days and Ollie's clothes were the only ones clean!!) The kids had a play at the park and we also had a look at... not sure what they are called but they have a board with a parachute which blows them around in the water.

For those of you who are interested... The detox went really well. After about the first 5 days. I felt really great. I don't feel as good now... probably because I'm eating junk!! I went and saw a rheumatologist a couple of weeks ago and he told me I had mild fibromyalgia. This basically means I get tired and my muscles ache all the time. I'm thinking of going back on a similar eating plan to the detox to see if it helps long term. Just thoughts!

The 7th

Saturday was the big day (Ava's Birthday) and because they were off to dreamworld we dropped in on Friday night. Here are the girls dressing up. Ava looks awesome with her dress tucked into her undies!!

Happy 30th!!

Last Saturday I went to a suprise 3oth lunch at Codpiece in Newfarm. Yummo for anyone that loves seafood. Two platters of oysters came out first and I was sitting at the lucky table where no one liked them and yep...... I feasted! Out came some other yummy nibbles and then on to the main meal with a deIlicious chocolate cake to follow... and 1/2 a deep fried mars bar with berries and cream. I had a lovely time and it was a lovely suprise for Melissa... hmmm... what did I do for my 30th......Oh that's right..... Scarlett was due.........nothing!

Here are some fun photos taken in our yard. The kids were going nuts trying to jump all over me and I think I ended up getting kicked in the nose...... and that was the end of that!

this is exciting......

Due to exceeding our download limit, our computer is running in slow motion, hence the lack of posting. It is driving me nuts!! It is so painful uploading pics.....

This is what Ollie has been up to in the last two weeks. Yep... we have finally gathered the confidence to start walking for real!

The haunted house

Scarlett went to a Halloween party yesterday. Everyone dressed up and they played games and got lots of treats! Here we have the Halloween butterfly who wouldn't participate in the games. The decorations were fabulous... wish I took more photos!

the explanation

I'm sorry about the last post. I made a really cool invitation in photo shop and thought I would show everyone..... then I realised it had my address on it. I was definitely not posting that! Last week was pretty busy. I had three walls in my lounge room painted white and it was time to paint the rest. I was given some paint which I thought was an off white or cream. I thought I could use it as undercoat. Julia helped me paint. It turned out being a naturally mushroom colour. I love it! Can you see the difference? Ages ago I bought these frames from ikea for 5 dollars each. I have finally put some photos in them! Got another one too.

I've gone nuts printing photos!
